After a great stay at La Sables, which was unbelievably cheap, (17eu a night) we decided to set off direct from there to cross Biscay rather than going further down to La Rochelle which is the usual place to set off from. We were glad to have the company for the crossing of Marek & Lucy on board ‘Libari’. With his on board Jacuzzi bath and Washing machine which amazed June. The 200 mile journey took us 48 hours to do and the trip was thankfully uneventful…infact we could have down with a bit more wind !
Apart from Benodet which was a very nice (but expensive) place…La Sables was our favourite stop in all of the French atlantic coast region. It is one place I would consider for leaving the boat on a permenant basis if required.
Many thanks to Marek for these photos of Friendship crossing the Bay of Biscay.
